To select what information you would like displayed whenever the "Onscreen Info" is turned on select "Options..." from the Settings menu, then pick "Onscreen Info" from the popup menu. Alternatively, click the options button for the Onscreen Info in the Display palette. Show Onscreen Info: This checkbox performs a similar function to the Onscreen Info command under the Guides menu. Check this box if you want the onscreen information box shown. Hide While Scrolling: To improve performance, you can check this box so that the onscreen info box is turned off while scrolling. Time Use these check boxes to select how you would like Time displayed in the Onscreen info box. Julian Date: displays the Julian date. Location Name: Checking this box will display your location's name. If you are located above an object, this information will also be displayed. Gaze Checking one or more of these checkboxes will display information about the direction that you are looking towards. Altitude and Azimuth: displays the altitude and azimuth of your current view (measured at the center of the window). Field of View Indicator Checking this checkbox will display a Telrad-like setting circle at the center of the current view. These circles can be very handy if you know the field of view of your telescope or binoculars. By setting the circle's diameter to this field of view size, you can get a good idea of how much of the sky you're seeing while looking through your instrument. Diameter: allows you to set the diameter of the circle, in degrees. You can also adjust the font and font size of the onscreen information by using the Font and Size popup windows. |
