To use the plug-in, you need to be running the SETI@Home screensaver program. The plug-in will NOT work with the command-line version of SETI@Home. You can download the SETI@Home screensaver program at http://www.setiathome.ssl.berkeley.edu/.

The "telephone poles" indicate unusual signals. No unusual signals may yet have been found in the unit of data which your copy of SETI@Home is currently analyzing.

Choose "Go" from the Starry Night menu. There should be an option named "Center/Update SETI Position". If this menu item is not present, you do not have the SETI@Home plug-in installed. You can download this plug-in for Windows. On Windows computers, the downloaded file will be named "SETI.plug". Move this file into the Program Files\Starry Night Pro 4\Sky Data\Plug-ins folder on your hard drive. After you have followed these steps, the SETI@Home plug-in will work properly.
